Dear Shia,

You love to chew on your hands and pretend to have a conversation with people. You smile so big whenever we start to nurse and it warms my heart, it's as if you were thanking me for providing you with nourishment. You are starting to laugh and be ticklish, I can't wait for you to truly laugh out loud. I have a feeling that watching your brother will provide you hours of entertainment.
You hate to be alone and if me or Ronin are in ear shot, you want to be in on the fun. You do get startled very easily (mostly from your brother's random outbursts) and you make the most gut wrenching , most heart breaking, most pitiful face. It's safe to assume.. you don't like loud noises.
You were not a fan of your first beach trip, but that's okay, in time you will learn to love the sunshine.

You were very close to sleeping all night and in your crib until you got a cold in which case you can't even sleep lying down. So you have been sleeping in your swing for now, but surely you are on the mend. You are also very close to rolling over on either side without help. You are much better at tummy time and holding your head up. You are one strong and chubby baby.
You interacted with your best friend, Ashby, who couldn't stop smiling at you. You, of course, were indifferent. For now you just like to look and watch people as opposed to interacting with them, I get that, goose.
When I asked Ronin if you should come with us to a birthday party or stay home, he replied "come with us". Even though it's tough to be alone, you will never be lonely, Shia. Not if Ronin has anything to do about it. You are his first thought every morning. "See Baby!" he says... even before breakfast.
This new phase of your life is possibly my favorite. We are on a great schedule now and you and I seem to have an understanding of how time and routine works. We see the world the same, you and I.
I have mourned over the end of your newborn phase and am now super excited for all of your "first"s in the months to come. I treasure every fleeting moment with you, Shia. You are so loved.
